Daisy Ridley Says Rey's Parents Were Revealed In The Force Awakens

Daisy Ridley thinks Star Wars: The Force Awakens made it abundantly clear who Rey's parents are, but she does have sort of an unfair advantage over the average fan.

In a recent interview with Time Out, Ridley said she's often asked about her character's mysterious parentage, and she's surprised that it's still a question.

"I thought a lot was answered inĀ The Force Awakens," she said. "Then after the screening, I went for a drink with my agent and everyone, and we were chatting away and I realized that, 'Oh, in their minds it's not answered at all!'"

Of course, there are plenty of theories. And if it seems so clear to Ridley, maybe the answer is the most obvious one: she could be the daughter of Luke Skywalker.

After all, the Force is strong with her, and her origin story on Jakku is similar to Luke's beginnings on Tatooine. Ridley also bears a strong resemblance to Padme Amidala (Natalie Portman), who would be her grandmother if the theory proves to be true. And the most persuasive evidence could be that Luke's lightsaber (the one Anakin Skywalker built and used) calls only to her.

Still, we won't find out anything else for sure until Episode VIII drops Dec. 15, 2017. In the meantime, check out everything we know about the movie so far.
