Why Avengers: Endgame Encore Is Leaving Marvel Fans Furious

As part of the wildest box office week of 2026 so far, "Avengers: Endgame Encore" Is effectively a theatrical rerelease of the last major Avengers movie, 2019's "Avengers: Endgame," brought back into theaters ahead of the upcoming "Avengers: Doomsday." However, "Encore" has some brand new bells and whistles attached in the form of added post-credit scenes that bridge the gap between the events of "Endgame" and "Doomsday."
There's one small catch, though. Only the IMAX and Infinity Vision versions of "Avengers: Endgame Encore" actually feature all four new scenes. As such, those who chose against splurging for those tickets were left without one particular scene of new footage, which has understandably ruffled a few feathers among the fandom.
The IMAX and Infinity Vision exclusive scene brings back the Time Variance Authority
Of the four new scenes in "Avengers: Endgame Encore," three are available to all moviegoers. In one of them, the Loki (Tom Hiddleston) variant from the "Loki" Disney+ series visits Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) in an extended version of the pair's dance from the end of the original "Endgame." In another, we find out that Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) needs Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and "collects" him for an unspecified reason. A third one reveals that the metallic sound in the end credits of "Endgame" is actually Doom forging his mask, similar to how Tony Stark was seen making his Iron Man mask back in 2008's "Iron Man."
The fourth IMAX and Infinity Vision exclusive scene takes us to the Time Variance Authority, the timeline-guarding agency seen in "Loki" and "Deadpool & Wolverine." Here, "Loki" characters Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson), O.B. (Ke Huy Quan), and Casey (Eugene Cordero) observe the rapidly advancing collapse of the entire Multiverse. Together with the TVA-affiliated "God of Stories" Loki cameo, this particular scene implies that the agency is going to play a major role in "Avengers: Doomsday," and it's understandable that fans who missed it aren't happy.
