How To Watch And Stream The 2020 Golden Globes

The 2020 Golden Globe Awards are almost upon us, and the ceremony promises to be just as entertaining as in years past. The mischievous kid brother to the Academy Awards, the Globes are always good for a few entertaining acceptance speeches, unforeseen moments, and hilarious production goofs — and sometimes, all three of those things at once.

The 2020 ceremony will be presided over by Ricky Gervais, returning for his fifth go-round and first since 2016, and the list of nominees (which we'll get to shortly) is scintillating indeed. Unlike the Oscars, the Globes also honor achievements in television as well as film, and 2019 has been a heck of a year for the small screen, with new series like On Becoming a God in Central Florida and Russian Doll capturing the public's imagination, and vaunted favorites such as Game of Thrones and Mr. Robot coming to a close.

If you want to go about watching the Golden Globes the old-fashioned way, it's easy enough. The ceremony airs on January 5, 2020, on NBC; the festivities begin at 8:00 PM Eastern and 5:00 PM Pacific. If you're a cord-cutter or would simply rather stream the ceremony, though, we've got several options for you.

How can I stream the 2020 Golden Globes?

First off, if you have a cable subscription but would prefer to stream the Golden Globes, you can do so via the NBC app, which is available for a wide variety of platforms. You can download the app for Android and iOS devices, as well as Apple TV, Google Chromecast, and Xbox One (sorry, PS4 owners, no PlayStation app is available). The app is also available for Mac and PC browsers, all Fire and Roku devices, the Amazon Echo Show, and Samsung and Vizio Smart TVs.

Cord cutters can watch the ceremony on a number of live TV streaming platforms, including YouTube TV, Hulu Live, DirecTV Now, PlayStation Vue, Sling TV, and Fubo TV. (via E! News) If your platform isn't among these, just check the listings — as long as your live TV streamer carries NBC, you're probably good to go.

Also, you just might be able to catch a free live stream of the ceremony on Facebook. While this hasn't been officially confirmed, the page did live stream the announcements of the nominees, so there's a fair chance you'll be able to stream at least a portion of the actual broadcast on the social media platform.
