The Steamy Colombian Thriller That's Taking Over Netflix

Netflix doesn't shy away from showcasing steamy scenes in the platform's many original series. After all, some of the streamer's most popular shows include "Bridgerton" and "Sex/Life," both of which include their fair share of intimate scenes. Other Netflix shows that often put sex at the forefront include "You," which premiered in 2018, and this year's "Obsession."

Fans of the aforementioned shows will be happy to learn that Netflix has recently released a steamy Colombian thriller titled "Fake Profile" — and it's already taking over the streaming service by cementing its place in the Top 10.

The series, which was created by Pablo Illanes, follows Camila (Carolina Miranda), a woman who, after making a profile on a dating app, meets her seemingly perfect match in Fernando (Rodolfo Salas). However, things quickly take a mysterious turn when Camila finds out that Fernando was lying about his identity. From there, Camila finds herself wrapped up in a web of lies and deception.

Viewers can't get enough of Fake Profile

Considering that "Fake Profile" has landed in Netflix's Top 10, it's clear that viewers are loving the sexy thriller series. Further, on Rotten Tomatoes the series has earned itself an 86% audience score. But to really get a feel for how audiences are responding to "Fake Profile," look no further than Twitter, where viewers have been discussing their thoughts about the new series.

One viewer, @krystalkcp, wrote, "Fake Profile on Netflix had me on edge the entire season!!!!! I watched 10 episodes straight! That's how crazy it was." Another viewer, @jethrothevirgo, declared that just from watching the first episode, they could tell they'd be binge-watching the show. Meanwhile, @Okaymeh_ made a request for their followers: "Omg, guys please watch 'Fake profile' on Netflix it's so good." And @msjanesss rated it a 10/10, praising its wild plot.

Further, several fans called the show "messy" — in a good way. One fan, @igobyDAJ, wrote, "Fake Profile so messy I'm living for it." Another viewer, @Pewa_B, noted that the show was already messy one episode in, adding, "I love it." And @Muneiwa_PMR wrote, "Guys, Fake Profile on Netflix? There's no way one show can be this messy."
