Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny: What's The Song In The Final Trailer?

There's quite a bit to go over in the final trailer for "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny." From featuring more details on the mysterious MacGuffin that Indie will be chasing this time around to showcasing more of the impressive de-aging technology that's getting used for Harrison Ford, the new preview serves as many viewer's closest look at the film yet. The cherry on top? It's set to a downright groovy beat that fits the spirited, adventurous tone of the series to a tee.

Some viewers may no doubt be wondering what the name of the song is that plays in this new "Indiana Jones" trailer. As it happens, it's a classic song made by an arguably even more classic band. The track is none other than the hit single "Sympathy for the Devil" by The Rolling Stones, and attaching this song in particular to Indie's latest adventure is a fitting choice.

Sympathy for the Devil is a perfect match for Indiana Jones

After hearing "Sympathy for the Devil" in the trailer for "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny," it's hard to argue that it wasn't an inspired choice. For one thing, the Rolling Stones song actually first released in 1968. Plot details indicate that this new adventure is jumping forward in time beyond the 1930s period of the original movies and bringing Indiana Jones to the late 1960s — right around the time that the general public would be rocking out to "Sympathy for the Devil" on their own radio sets. Essentially, it's very accurate to the movie's period piece setting.

Beyond that, the version of "Sympathy for the Devil" used for the trailer has some slight alterations to make it sound more cinematically appropriate. Midway through, the song also seamlessly transitions into a triumphant rendition of John Williams' iconic "Indiana Jones" theme, making for a moment that no doubt filled many veteran fans with a heaping helping of nostalgia.

Only time will tell whether "Sympathy for the Devil" actually makes an appearance in "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" itself. Fans will be able to find out for themselves when the movie releases on June 30.
