John Wick 4: The One Caine Line That Really Got Fans' Attention

Caine, the sightless assassin played by Hong Kong action legend Donnie Yen in "John Wick: Chapter 4," gives fans plenty to get excited about in the new film now in theaters, much of it not involving spoken dialogue. And yet, one line in particular seems to have really resonated with viewers of the latest "John Wick" adventure, if the early reactions to the movie on Reddit are to be believed.

If you've already seen the movie, you can probably guess the line in question. It's a short but sweet two-word missive delivered to the Marquis Vincent de Gramont (Bill Skarsgård). U/thomasL11 on Reddit sums it up nicely: "Caine's line of 'F**k Off' to Marquis was hilarious."

The line could very well be the first time that Yen has ever delivered that particular obscenity on screen, but Yen delivers it with the kind of skill and crack timing that fans are used to seeing him use to perform roundhouse kicks. As u/onearc puts it: "The delivery on that line was perfection. Donnie Yen killed it."

And theatrical audiences seem to be appreciative of the line.

Some fans have reported that the audiences they saw "John Wick: Chapter 4" with were audibly excited about Donnie Yen's delivery of the already legendary dialogue. "'F**k off' by Caine got a huge laugh in the audience," reported u/iAMAUrfAMA. "Mine too," replied u/Kevinrobertsfan.

Just like John Wick (Keanu Reeves) himself, the enthusiasm for Yen's line doesn't seem to ever stop. U/Deadloops wrote: "[The] 'f**k off' by Donnie Yen was so perfect." And u/Megaclone18 went a step further in praising Yen's delivery of the line: "Donnie Yen gave the most powerful 'F**K OFF' I've heard in a long time during the duel."

For a series that has become known for its stylized, mannered dialogue, it's somewhat surprising that a line with such blunt force would grab the approval of so many "John Wick" fans. But at the same time, it makes sense that it would stand out.

"John Wick: Chapter 4" is now in theaters.
