Mandalorian S3 Theory: Nevarro's New Marshal Will Be A Returning Fan-Favorite

Contains spoilers for "The Mandalorian" Season 3, Episode 1 – "Chapter 17: The Apostate"

Season 3 of "The Mandalorian" wastes no time in establishing that a lot has changed. The last time audiences had a chance to see Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu was in "The Book of Boba Fett," which saw the ersatz father and child reunited after a fateful choice. Luckily, the pair also obtained a fancy new Naboo Starfighter, which should help Djarin in his new quest. Originally, Djarin is tasked with returning Grogu to his people, but now that mission has been completed, Djarin must redeem himself in the eyes of other Mandalorians for the grievous mistake of taking off his helmet in the presence of others.

Stopping by Nevarro to check in with his pal Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), Djarin is offered a tract of land and the ability to settle down. However, Djarin is more or less focused on reaching the Mines of Mandalore, and he rebukes Karga's offer. Karga then reveals his true motivation for wanting Djarin to stick around, and it involves needing a new law enforcement agent to maintain the peace. Of course when one uses the title of "marshal" in "The Mandalorian," there is only one person that comes to mind.

If Nevarro needs a marshal, there is certainly somebody who could fill the position

Though the first episode of "The Mandalorian" Season 3 hasn't been out for long, fans have already taken to social media to speculate what kind of marshal Nevarro might see in the future, and it seems as if some fans have all coalesced around a previous character – Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant). On Twitter, @hisbrokenwatch expressed tremendous excitement upon hearing Greef Karga ask about a marshal, which automatically made them think that was a sign of a future Vanth appearance. Likewise, @LucasPSI3 wrote, "Okay so Cobb Vanth is going to be the Greef's new Marshel, right? But the question is how to we move Cobb from one planet to another without anyone noticing?" Others also felt the same way, with multiple fans posting images of Cobb, and @ENDURE_SURVIVE making a joke about a future Din Djarin and Vanth reunion.

Vanth's last appearance is in "The Book of Boba Fett," where he suffered a wound from Cad Bane (Corey Burton). Although not mortally wounded, he still required time to heal, but luckily Tatooine had earned itself a reprieve from gangs and exploiters due to the efforts of Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison), Cobb, and Djarin. Does this mean that Vanth may be looking for a new job? Well, if Boba Fett is able to successfully control Tatooine, that would certainly mean that Vanth may be looking for something new, and it definitely sounds like Nevarro has an open marshal position.
