You Fans Stop Dead In Their Tracks At The Sight Of Love In The S4 Part 2 Trailer
The following article contains spoilers for the ending of "You" Season 4, Part 1.
Netflix may never adopt the weekly release model that has defined network television for decades. It seems content with its binge-watching model, where an entire season of a show gets dropped all at once, but the streaming platform does seem to be experimenting in one way. Last year, Netflix divided "Stranger Things" Season 4 into two separate parts that were released roughly a month after each other, and it's doing the same thing with "You" Season 4.
The first portion of Season 4 debuted on February 9. Enough time has seemingly passed for Netflix to start promoting the next installment with a new trailer that gives up the identity of the killer from the first part, so you better be all caught up before watching it. It appears Joe (Penn Badgley) finds himself in the crosshairs of Rhys (Ed Speleers), who's actually the Eat the Rich Killer. But the trailer reveals there will be more to this cat-and-mouse game for the back half of Season 4. The trailer ends with the reveal that Joe's ex, Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti), is back after seemingly having died in a house fire. Naturally, the revelation has "You" fans freaking out on social media and wondering how she's back.
Fans weren't expecting to see Love back
There's a lot to wonder about Love's return. How did she escape the fire? Is she even real, or is Joe hallucinating? There are a lot of questions that need answers, and fans will have to wait a few more weeks to see what they are. For now, they're left wondering what's going on and letting their excitement known across social media.
Underneath the YouTube video of the trailer, plenty of comments are all about Love's return. User Trina Q posited, "That scene of Love at the end made me gasp, I can't wait to see Joe and Love face off! I wonder if she's alive or a hallucination, given how we never ACTUALLY saw her dead body." It makes for a good loophole that, yes, we never saw Love actually perish, so there could absolutely be some complex scenario she made it out of the fire alive. Someone else wrote, "WAIT Tf love is back that surprised me also can you publish it now I am dying to what happens next."
Twitter also filled up with comments from people who couldn't believe their eyes initially. @marcellusRoss1_ wrote, "HOLY S***!!! THE BEST SEASON EVER! Love is back!! Holy s*** Dude." Love Quinn served as an ideal foil to Joe, so it makes sense he wouldn't be able to get rid of her that easily. Fans will likely lose their minds all over again when the full context of her resurgence emerges. "You" Season 4, Part 2 premieres on Netflix on March 9.
