Gladiator Is
'Timeless'

The blockbuster film "Gladiator" follows a former Roman general who sets out to exact revenge when his family is murdered and becomes a gladiator. The movie reinvented the sword-and-sandal genre, earning $460 million worldwide, and won multiple Academy Awards, including best picture and best actor for star Russell Crowe.
During an exclusive interview with Looper, "Gladiator" screenwriter Logan discussed why he thinks the epic historical drama stands the test of time. "Ridley Scott made an exceptional movie with a wonderful cast that really spoke to people, and that's a universal and timeless thing," the Academy Award nominee told us.
Logan continued, “There's something timeless about great cinema, and, for me, 'Gladiator,' because of Ridley Scott, is great cinema." The movie was one of John Logan's first big-budget feature films, and while Scott revealed that he's in the process of working on a sequel, Logan is not rumored to be involved.
