Divided Over
Lightyear

"Lightyear" hasn't exactly lit up the box office and it’s an anticlimactic showing for a new Pixar movie, especially one based on pre-existing intellectual property. Part of the reason for this underperformance seems to come from reviews from fans saying how the film's a bit of a letdown, especially when it has to live up to the legacy of "Toy Story."
Reddit is the place to go to get a consensus on what people think about a new movie. One Redditor said, “None of the characters feel memorable, most of the jokes didn't land, the broader message of the film is extremely basic and feels kinda shoved down your throat, Chris [Evans] is a fine voice actor, but he never 'feels' like buzz lightyear.”
Another Redditor said, "My biggest gripe with it is that it's supposed to be the film Andy saw in 1995 that made him love Buzz Lightyear. The movie doesn't line up with that premise at all." The film has fared well on Rotten Tomatoes, but when it comes to finding common ground with "Lightyear," people will have to agree to disagree on this one.
