Why Paige From Young Sheldon Looks So Familiar

By KEVIN TALL
Mckenna Grace, the prolific actor behind Paige Swanson on "Young Sheldon," has a resume that rivals that of performers twice her age. She starred alongside Chris Evans in "Gifted," portraying a child prodigy at the center of a family custody battle, and the role won her several awards on the festival circuit.

GIFTED

She made the transition to skating superstar when she played the young Tonya Harding in the black comedy "I, Tonya." Grace described this as "the most challenging role" she'd ever done because of one significant factor: she had to learn to ice skate.

On the ABC series "Designated Survivor," Grace portrayed first daughter Penny Kirkman, whose father becomes President after an accident forces him into office. The young actress has revealed something she has in common with TV dad Kiefer Sutherland: they both have stuffed animals in their trailers.

DESIGNATED SURVIVOR

Grace played the young version of Theo, the middle child of the Crain brood, on the Netflix horror series “The Haunting of Hill House.” Her character, who wears gloves due to experiencing people’s thoughts through tactile contact, is arguably the most well-adjusted of the siblings.

In “The Handmaid’s Tale,” Grace portrays Esther Keyes, the young wife of Commander Keyes, who offers June and the other escaped handmaids refuge at her farm. Grace says of her character, “She's angry, and then she's regal and talking to the guards. She changes up so quickly.”
