Lance Barber has been a career actor for over 20 years but has rarely held the spotlight. In an interview with Battle Creek Enquirer in 2014, he said, “I was a character guy, I was heavy, I was likable, I guess," but added that despite his lack of mainstream notoriety, he still loves being an actor.

In 2005, HBO came out with its own mockumentary-style sitcom, called "The Comeback”, and Barber played the role of Paulie G., the showrunner of lead character Valerie Cherish’s latest sitcom gig, "Room and Bored." Unfortunately, unlike "The Office," it was canceled after one season.

Throughout the 2000s and 2010s Barber continued to take smaller roles in popular shows like "The Mentalist," "Monk," and "CSI: Miami.” However, his most notable role during this period was his performance as certifiable scumbag Bill Ponderosa in "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."

Long before "Young Sheldon," Barber actually made another appearance on "The Big Bang Theory" where he played Leonard’s high school bully, Jimmy Speckerman. He shows up in 2011's "The Speckerman Occurrence," which focuses on Speckerman's failed attempts to make amends with Leonard.
