Why Freddy In The Frasier Reboot Looks Familiar
By MIKE BEDARD
In the 2023 “Frasier” revival, Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) will be reconnecting with his son, Freddy Crane (Jack Cutmore-Scott), and you may have seen Cutmore-Scott on screen before.
Before breaking into film and TV, Cutmore-Scott got his start in theater, and his stage pedigree helped him land his first big break as Rufus in “Kingsman: The Secret Service.”
He then took on the titular role for “Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life” on Fox, which followed 20-year-olds figuring out their lives. Cutmore-Scott liked its relatability.
Cutmore-Scott explained to DuJour, “We all get ourselves out into the world and expect everything to fall into place, and of course, it doesn’t. That spoke to me.”
Cutmore-Scott had a role in three Christopher Nolan films: as a soldier in “Dunkirk,” freeport employee Klaus in “Tenet,” and as security officer Lyall Johnson in “Oppenheimer.”
Cutmore-Scott also got the chance to lead another TV series with 2018’s “Deception.” He played illusionist Cameron Black, who worked alongside the FBI to help solve crimes.

He also portrayed Cameron’s twin brother, Jonathan Black. Unfortunately, “Deception” ended similarly to “Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life,” canceled after one season.
