Why Freck From
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Sounds So Familiar
By CHRIS PEREZ
In the third episode of "Obi-Wan Kenobi,” if you listen carefully, there's a character who may sound weirdly familiar. Freck, the mole-like transport driver (and keen Empire supporter) is voiced by an actor you have definitely seen and heard before.
Television and movie veteran Zach Braff, star of the hit sitcom “Scrubs,” is the actor playing Freck. Over the years, Braff has been very vocal about the "Star Wars" universe and projects related to and his "Scrubs" co-star Donald Faison is a huge fan of the franchise, something the Freck actor has written about on social media.
Braff is no stranger to voice-over work, having provided the voices for the lead in Disney’s “Chicken Little” and as Finley, the Flying Monkey in “Oz the Great and Powerful.” Braff also did voice-over work on the sitcom “Community” and even voiced an animated version of himself on Netflix’s “BoJack Horseman.”
