"Purple Hearts" is Netflix's latest romance flick which employs the classic enemies-to-lovers trope and follows the story of Luke Morrow, a military man, and Cassie Salazar, a free-spirited musician. The actress who plays Cassie, Sophia Carson, is no stranger to the silver screen, as she has played some prominent roles in movies and TV.
Fans of Disney Channel Original Movies might know Carson as Evie, daughter of the Evil Queen (Kathy Najimy), from the "Descendants" film series, a movie that follows the children of famous Disney villains. Carson not only plays a role in the movie but also lends her vocal talents to the upbeat soundtrack.
Another movie Carson starred in is "Adventures in Babysitting," playing Lola Perez, a laidback teenager with a passion for photography who found trouble babysitting with her competitor Jenny Parker (Sabrina Carpenter). Carson also starred as the title character in "A Cinderella Story: If the Shoe Fits," the fourth installment in the "A Cinderella Story" film series.
Carson also starred in the short-lived series "Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists," a short-lived sequel to "Pretty Little Liars" that follows Alison DiLaurentis. Carson portrays Ava Jalali, a member of Nolan's posse, alongside fellow students Dylan Walker and Caitlin Park-Lewis.
