Given its cult status today, you might be surprised that when Hocus Pocus was originally released — for some odd reason in the summer of 1993 — it was a bit of a flop. Today the movie is so beloved it has spawned a much-anticipated sequel, but you might be confused why the supporting character Cassie looks so familiar.
Cassie is played by Lilia Buckingham, who, with 65k Twitter followers and 1.5 million Instagram followers, is probably on your radar. However, she got her start with a small role as “Trick or Treater #2” on a Halloween episode of “Modern Family. in the episode, Claire Dunphy takes her costume a little too far, scaring the young Buckingham and her friends.
Bucking also starred as Autumn Miller, the captain of the Millwood Dance Team, in YouTube’s Brat TV show “Chicken Girls.” Buckingham later starred in “Dirt,” the show’s spin-off, the Brat TV movies “Spring Breakaway” and “Total Eclipse,” and the third entry in the “Chicken Girls” universe, “Zoe Valentine.”
