Corlys Velaryon is portrayed by Steve Toussaint, an actor that has had a long career in television and film. Those familiar with British television, in particular, will recognize him from "Skins," as well as "Doctor Who."
American viewers may recognize him for a multi-episode arc on "CSI: Miami” or from "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time," a film adapted from the video game starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, and Ben Kingsley. As a lavish period piece, the film was no doubt a solid precursor to "House of the Dragon" which is likely one of the reasons Toussaint feels right at home in those detailed costumes.
