Whatever
Happened To Law
& Order: For The
Defense?

Fans of the "Law & Order" franchise may remember that last year NBC announced another spinoff of the show, titled "Law & Order: For the Defense." However, it has been more than a year since the announcement, and the series is nowhere to be found, which makes one wonder, what happened to it?
According to the logline of the show, it was supposed to be "an unbiased look inside a criminal defense firm," and reportedly, the show was picked up by NCB with a straight-to-series order in May 2021. However, NBC executives decided to scrap it last summer and focus on creating a new series under the "Law & Order" banner.
Sources said the show was canceled because the network didn't want to do a legal drama. This isn't the first time a "Law & Order" spinoff got shelved before ever starting as "Law & Order: Hate Crimes" — another series that got a straight-to-series order — was scrapped several years ago.
