Actress Annie Potts plays Constance “Connie” Tucker on “Young Sheldon,” affectionately known as the one and only “Meemaw.” Although she is most known for her roles in movies such as “Ghostbusters” and “Toy Story,” Potts shares what she loves the most about starring in the popular sitcom.
In a 2018 interview with the Los Angeles Times, the actress shared that she was glad she scored a role as meaningful as “Meemaw,” which is something rare for female actors her age. Potts added that she loves the cast, especially the younger members, as she enjoys helping them embark on their acting journeys.
Potts also spoke with Variety and explained the importance of being a good role model for her “very malleable” younger co-stars, referring to them as her “fake grandchildren.” She went on to explain how she related to the nature of “Meemaw” and knew immediately this was the role for her.
