A Contestant On
The Price Is Right

If you want to be a contestant on “The Price Is Right,” you can't just show up in the audience, cheer with lively abandon, and hope to get plucked out of the crowd. However, if you follow these steps you might just get to hear George Gray inviting you to, "Come on down!"
The most up-to-date eligibility rules state that you must be 18 or older, you must attest that you're not running for public office anytime soon, that you haven't been a contestant on the show in the past 10 years, and you and your family members shouldn't be employees of certain related companies.
Read the fine print
Before each show co-producer Stan Blits works his way through the line outside granting each aspiring contestant one minute of his time. Aside from looking your best, Blitt explains, "I am looking for energy, sincerity, and potential humor," he said. "And if they can equal my energy or exceed it and maintain it, they are at the top of the list."
In Line At the Studio
When your interview time is up, Blits will move on, and you may think you've done all you can do to secure your spot as a contestant. That's where you'd be wrong. According to The Washington Post, he continues to check back down the line to check whether you're still energized — so be sure to maintain your enthusiasm!
