What Yellowstone Fans Still Don't Understand About Rip

When “Yellowstone” fans discuss their favorite character on the show, Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler often comes up. However, while fans once admired Rip’s brutal behavior, he has begun to rub some fans the wrong way, especially in Season 4.
In the “Yellowstone” subreddit, a fan posted how they can’t stand Rip for his constant mistreatment of everyone at the ranch, especially newcomer Carter (Finn Little). While some of his loyalists defended him by saying that Rip is the way he is because of his history of being abused, others agreed that he needs to open his eyes to the awful person he’s become.
Another fan mentioned that the writers have intentionally made Rip unlikable to remind the audience that while they’ve come to love him, he really is not a good person. Others argued that his relationship with Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) doesn’t help matters, with the original poster saying, “They both love the power they have and love to bully anyone and everyone that they believe is beneath them.”
