Season 24 of “Law & Order: SVU” is set to premiere on September 22nd, making history as the longest-running primetime series of all time since 2019. The series includes original cast members Olivia Benson and Odafin Tutuola, but fans would still like to see some change within the group of detectives.
According to a recent Reddit thread, fans want a new female detective. Reddit user, U/jdpm1991, started the conversation by saying the show should bring in a new female detective, especially because fans haven’t seen another female detective on the team, besides Kat Azar Tamin, since Monique Jeffries almost 22 years ago.
The user goes on to say, “I love Benson, and I like Rollins, but at times their characters feel very 'Men Write Women.’” Although it’s unclear whether a fresh face will be joining the main cast of the show, another Reddit user agreed, saying, “I think it's time they have a woman of color detective; they haven't had one since Jeffries!”
