After Leaving
Grey's Anatomy?
By NIKKI MUNOZ
Sara Ramirez — who played the role of Calliope "Callie" Torres in "Grey's Anatomy" — joined the series in Season 2 and remained one of the main characters until Season 12. However, Ramirez's exit from the show in 2016 left many people wondering what happened to them post "Grey's Anatomy."
After leaving "Grey's Anatomy," Ramirez appeared as Kat Sandoval in the political drama "Madam Secretary" in Seasons 4 and 5 of the show, between 2017 to 2019. Additionally, from 2012 to 2018, Ramirez voiced the role of Queen Miranda in the animated children's series
"Sofia the First."
Most recently, Ramirez bagged the role of Che Diaz, a nonbinary queer comedian, in the sequel to "Sex and the City," titled "And Just Like That ..." Even though their character received a lot of flak, Ramirez maintained that they liked the complexity and imperfection of Che's character.
