What Alaskan
Bush People Fans
Noticed About
Ami After Billy's
Death
By MELISSA LEMIEUX
On February 7, 2021, Billy Brown, leader of the Wolfpack on “Alaskan Bush People,” passed away from a seizure shortly after a wildfire partially destroyed his family’s property. As the family has started to rebound from this devastating loss, fans of the show have noticed a marked difference in the behavior of Billy’s wife Ami.
Overall, Ami has become much more assertive and outspoken since her husband’s death; she is now in charge of the family’s finances and directs everything that happens in Browntown. Some fans speculate that this is because she has been left to make decisions on her own for the first time, but her resilience as a cancer survivor may also be a factor.
Bear Brown, one of the many Brown children, stated in a recent interview that his mother Ami has been the strongest family member in the face of his father’s death; he also admits that she is the one who's planning the ranch's extensive post-wildfire rebuild. He seems both proud of his mother and the legacy Billy has left behind for the rest of the world to view.
