Tsukimichi:
Moonlit Fantasy
Season 2 - What
We Know So Far
By JONAH SCHUHART
Based on the light novel and manga series of the same name by Kei Azumi, "Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy" is a self-described “social reform fantasy.” This isekai anime has grabbed the attention of anime fans due to its unique concept, leading the creators to immediately start Season 2.
Animation studio C2C has not revealed much about the release date, but C2C’s previous series, “Wandering Witch — The Journey of Elaina," came out a year after its initial announcement, so fans could expect Season 2 of "Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy" to air sometime in late 2022 or early 2023. Those living in the western hemisphere can watch Season 1 on Crunchyroll.
"Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy” is about an average man, Makoto Misumi, living in real-world Japan until he’s summoned by a goddess into a fantasy world. However, the goddess thinks he is so hideous that she casts him into the wasteland, but Makoto overcomes this setback and becomes allies with Tomoe and Mio — together, the three of them work to change the world.
Season 1 ended with Makoto defeating adventurer Sofia Bulga and a dragon, Mitsurugi, because these two enemies wanted to destroy humanity. Makoto finds himself playing into the hands of the unkind goddess who first summoned him, however, he continues to connect with humans, even though the goddess has done her utmost to prevent human contact.
