This Is Who Plays
Mara In The
Progressive
Commercials
By HEATHER E. SCHWARTZ
Stephanie Courtney’s career took off when she took on the role of Flo in the now famous Progressive commercials. Now, her commercial co-star Mara, who is played by Natalie Palamides, is poised for similar fame, having already risen through the ranks to earn her place as Progressive's latest leading lady.
Long before her recurring role in Progressive commercials, Natalie Palamides was an up-and-coming comedian who launched her onscreen career with a webseries in 2012, and appearances in Spike's "Tattoo Nightmares” and Geek Nation's sketch show "The Brat Cave." She is also the voice of Buttercup on Cartoon Network's reboot of "The Powerpuff Girls."
However, she's perhaps most famous for creating a show people might not recognize her in. As the star of "Nate: A One Man Show," which premiered on Netflix in 2020, Palamides is a mustachioed and toxically masculine male, wrestling with his own limitations.
