The Worst Mistake Disney Can Make With Obi-Wan Kenobi

By PAULI POISUO
"Obi-Wan Kenobi'' is the first live-action Disney+ series not set after “Return of the Jedi,” and it will likely be far more intimately connected to the movies than its predecessors. The stakes for this particular show are high, and there is also the risk of one major mistake — giving too much screen time to Darth Vader.
"The Book of Boba Fett" controversially spent several episodes on the hero of “The Mandalorian,” as opposed to its title character. If "Obi-Wan Kenobi" follows in its footsteps, the show will probably turn to Vader-centric episodes, which would likely be even worse than the Mando takeover on “Boba Fett.”
The movies use Vader as a periodic threat, such as in the "Rogue One" battle scene, which is highly effective. It's a delicate balance, and some fans worry that even a Kenobi/Vader rematch could damage the effectiveness of the iconic characters and undo what makes their confrontation in the original film so important.
