"The Witcher" fans are still reeling from the recent news that Henry Cavill will no longer be playing Geralt after Season 3. While some have speculated that the departure was due to incompatible work schedules, die-hard fans have started a petition to keep Cavill around.
A Change.org petition titled "NETFLIX: You MUST keep Henry Cavill as The Witcher and replace the writers instead" has blown up and, at the time of this writing, it has nearly reached its goal of 50,000 signatures.
The petition also states that if Netflix doesn’t restore Cavill in the role they are prepared to boycott the show, or even the entire streaming platform, if necessary. If previous, similar petitions are any indication it's unlikely the series' executives will backtrack on their decision and it will also come down to whether Cavill would be able and willing to return.
