The Walking Dead Fans Are Not Happy About The Latest Spin-Off News

By JONAH SCHUHART

On March 7th, the official “Walking Dead” Twitter announced a new spinoff titled “Isle of the Dead” that will star Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). It’s the fifth confirmed spinoff after "Fear The Walking Dead," "Tales of The Walking Dead," "The Walking Dead: World Beyond," and an untitled series featuring Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride).

The fan reaction to the news isn’t as positive as AMC would’ve hoped, with many feeling that all these spinoffs are unnecessary. One Twitter user voiced how the announcement has spoiled the post-Season 11 fates of the characters, while another wondered if "The Walking Dead” is even good anymore.

While the hate isn’t universal, it’s never a good sign when a new series is panned right as it’s announced. Time will only tell if fans will tune in when “Isle of the Dead” premieres sometime in 2023.
