The Scene That
Led To An Extra's
Removal From
The House Of The
Dragon's Set
By MIKE WORBY
Milly Alcock and Fabien Frankel recently opened up about the most difficult scene they had to film together for HBO’s “House of the Dragon.” It turned out to be the moment Rhaenyra Targaryen throws a wreath to Ser Criston Cole during a jousting tournament.
Frankel was supposed to catch the wreath on his lance, but high winds made it difficult for him to do so. The extras began booing or cheering for Frankel, which added intensity to the moment, but there was one particularly egregious member of the extras team who was removed for a very strange reason.
In a recent interview, both actors recalled seeing one extra wearing sunglasses during this scene, which he was asked to remove more than once. The extra continuously refused to take off his sunglasses, which ultimately led to his removal. Though it probably wasn’t the best career move for a performer, hopefully, the extra learned his lesson and will try to be more professional on future sets.
