Reinforces The
Importance Of A
Wizard's Staff
By PAULI POISUO
THIS STORY CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" Season 1 finale, "Alloyed."

SPOILER WARNING!

Wizard staves feature prominently in "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring," with Gandalf the Grey and Saruman the White both heavily utilizing their staves. While there seems to be a lot of magic going around in Amazon Prime Video's "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” the finale demonstrated that staves remain incredibly powerful tools.
The Dweller's group has been hot on the Stranger's heels ever since they were introduced in "The Rings of Power" Episode 5, and they nearly capture him in the finale. However, Nori Brandyfoot saves the day by handing the Dweller's staff to the Stranger, who uses the staff to focus his hitherto unwieldy powers and vanquish the trio.
This isn't the first time "The Lord of the Rings" franchise has depicted a wizard’s staff as a highly dangerous thing in the hands of a wizard, as Gandalf famously uses his staff to free the ruler of Rohan from Grima Wormtongue's gloom-inducing influence. Now that the Stranger has a staff at his disposal, there's no telling how powerful he'll turn out to be.
