Season 8 of “Blue Bloods” premiered with a bombshell: Linda Reagan, wife of Danny Reagan, had died following a helicopter accident. Amy Carlson, who had decided not to renew her contract, was surprised by the way Linda’s sudden departure was handled.
In an interview, Carlson stated, "I feel badly that she dies the way she dies. I did not know they would do that, I was surprised. I wouldn't have done that.” Carlson also shared her disappointment with the way her exit was handled, particularly because it didn’t even take place on screen at all.
Carlson has been busy since leaving “Blue Bloods,” with feature films and the Netflix supernatural drama “The Society.” Donnie Wahlberg has stated that he’d be open to any avenue that could bring Linda back stating, "Maybe we do a dream episode where Danny dreams she's back, I don't know.”
