As one of the longest-running shows on television, "The Simpsons" hasn't shied away from parodying and commenting on various aspects of pop culture. But now that the iconic animated series is under Disney’s ownership, here’s the one sacred Disney character who won't be getting the satirical treatment.
To commemorate the second anniversary of the launch of Disney+, the studio enlisted "The Simpsons" to create a short film titled "The Simpsons in Plusaversary," where iconic characters like Tinker Bell, Cinderella, and Daffy Duck populate Moe’s Tavern. Despite the plethora of characters present, many Disney devotees may have noticed one notable absence, Mickey Mouse.
It turns out that Disney made the character off-limits for the short. However, "The Simpsons" team came up with an alternative way of nodding to the iconic character, instead portraying Bart in a Mickey Mouse costume.
