The One Part Of
Gilmore Girls
That Alexis
Bledel Found
Really Annoying
By NIKKI MUNOZ
Nine years after the finale of “Gilmore Girls,” Alexis Bledel returned in 2016 to star as Rory Gilmore in the Netflix four-part revival series “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.” In a lightning-round interview, Bledel was asked a series of questions, including one that asked if there was a Stars Hollow community member who annoyed her the most.
Bledel insisted that, while no one character annoyed her, she “was really annoyed when they put [her] in, like, a silly costume for a town event,” which she found humiliating. Her comment makes sense, considering the sheer volume of quirky and outrageous Stars Hollows events Rory had to partake in, like a Revolutionary War reenactment and a knit-a-thon.
Despite this, Bledel expressed that she was grateful to return to Stars Hollow as Rory Gilmore, saying, “It's like a chance to have a do-over. You never really get that in life […] to reimagine the same character eight years later […] You get to take all the things that you find interesting about the character and then hopefully inject that with whatever you picked up along the way personally."
