The Nightmare Before Christmas Sequel That Already Exists Explained

Thanks to author Shea Ernshaw, "The Nightmare Before Christmas" story continues in a canonical novelized sequel called "Long Live the Pumpkin Queen."
Released in 2022, the book follows Sally as she comes to terms with her new role as the Pumpkin Queen and single handedly saves the holiday-themed towns from destruction.
In an exclusive interview with The Disinsider, Ernshaw explained that Disney has wanted to flesh out the film’s world for a long time, specifically with a Sally POV.
Tim Burton, however, was reluctant to provide the rights until recently. Ernshaw’s immediate follow-up to the classic 1993 film is just a piece of its extended universe.
