The Marvel Villain That Was Played By The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons

By JASON CONNOLLY
Jim Parsons is best known for playing the hyper-intelligent and neurotic Sheldon Cooper on CBS’s “The Big Bang Theory,” which earned him four Primetime Emmy Awards. What fans may not know is that he also voiced the character of supervillain Nightmare in Marvel Animation’s “The Super Hero Squad Show.”
Nightmare is the evil ruler of the Dream Dimension who tortures sleeping individuals by planting thoughts and suggestions in their dreams that alter their behavior. The show turns Marvel superheroes and villains into comedic parodies of themselves, and Parsons’ subtle voice acting perfectly relays how ridiculous Nightmare’s powers can be.
Parsons isn’t the only “Big Bang Theory” cast member to dabble in the superhero genre. Mayim Bialik provided voice acting for the “X2: Wolverine’s Revenge” video game and for the animated movie “Stan’s Lee’s Mighty 7,” Kaley Cuoco currently plays the titular character in HBO Max’s “Harley Quinn;” and Simon Helberg played supervillain Moist in "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog."
