AHS is often appreciated for the inclusion of timely comic relief in its gloomy and terrifying storylines using multi-layered, realistic characters to help combine fear and humor. One such character is Fiona Goode, played by Jessica Lange, who in her dying moments, realizes her afterlife will be spent in the Axeman's wooden house.
Lange perfectly conveys Fiona's despair at spending eternity with her murderer, but as she gazes at the walls in utter disbelief she comically shrieks, "What is this? Knotty pine?!" Fans took to Reddit to name this among one of the funniest “AHS” moments, as u/Willa-Rosewood commented, "Makes me laugh every time!"
The most upvoted scene was the unforgettable tribute video Iris (Kathy Bates) makes for herself in Season 5. And although "AHS: Hotel" is considered to be one of the show's lowest points another top-voted Reddit moment is the scene in which when James Patrick March reveals himself to Tristan Duffy.
As u/amloyd accurately pointed out, the scene turned out as funny as it did mainly thanks to Evan Peters' acting abilities. u/writergirljds followed that up by saying, "Between Mr. March and Quicksilver it's become clear that Evan has a very good sense of comic timing and delivery."
