“Blue Bloods'” Frank Reagan is played convincingly by veteran actor Tom Selleck. Even though his character is a dependable NYPD Commissioner who loves his job, Reagan has gotten his hands dirty and been in scenes that went too far for some fans.
In the Season 9 episode "Handcuffs," Reagan orders a raid on a housing complex after a video of two of his officers being provoked at the complex goes viral. His officers figure the smart thing to do is ignore it, but instead Reagan sends in tactical squads and air raids to make arrests.
Fans of the show took to Reddit to voice their opinions, and the majority of them didn’t like the idea of the police arresting people simply because they’ve been insulted. One Redditor said that their dad was a cop, and the “shock and awe” campaign that Reagan used was not the right call.
