The Field Of Dreams Mystery That Still Has Fans Scratching Their Heads

By CALVIN CARTER
Although it's been over three decades since the release of the fantasy baseball movie “Field of Dreams,” the sports classic’s impact is still felt today, with the MLB celebrating it annually and a new series coming to Peacock. However, there is one mystery about the movie that fans still haven’t been able to figure out.
The mystery surrounds who the voice is behind the iconic line “If you build it, he will come.” On the Unresolved Mysteries subreddit, fans have mentioned the film’s stars like Kevin Costner and Ray Liotta, as well as Mark Hamill — thanks to his voice work and connection with James Earl Jones, who starred in both “Star Wars” and “Field of Dreams.”
Other Redditors think it might be the film’s director, Phil Alden Robinson, due to the voice credit simply being “Himself” and the fact that Robinson also voiced the line for a scratch track. However, the world may never know, as Robinson revealed in an interview that he’ll never reveal the identity and enjoyed people’s guesses about the “great mystery.”
