It's been nearly a year and a half since Peaky Blinders wrapped up its fifth season with a stunning cliffhanger. Now, that the production of Season 6 is up and running again it’s best to recap and refresh our minds about what happened at the end of season 5.

Throughout Season 5, Tommy Shelby’s mental health deteriorated as he faced other stressors, including trying to outwit Oswald Mosley and Jimmy McAvern. After an attempted assassination of Mosley goes wrong he reached a point of no return which leads him into an empty field, where Grace and a black horse await.

Tommy then puts a gun to his temple, screams, and the credits roll, leaving fans to wonder whether the protagonist actually pulled the trigger. Even though it's clear how the series arrived at this tense moment in the finale, it doesn't make the waiting for the resolution any easier.
