The Elsa Scene That Went Too Far On Yellowstone's 1883

By CHRIS PEREZ AND JAMES GEMMILL

Throughout the debut season of "1883," Isabel May's character Elsa Dutton serves as one of the show's most intriguing characters due to her hardiness and independence. However, there's one Elsa scene, in particular, that viewers are calling “almost unbearable” to watch.

The scene in question is in the finale of Season 1, after being unable to find the medical care she desperately needs, she and her Father stop to rest. Elsa dies in her father’s arms creating a moment so heartbreaking that viewers were genuinely angry at Paramount+ for airing it.

Although it's clear Elsa's death served to move the saga of the Dutton family forward, fans were not pleased to see the beloved character exit the show so tragically. One fan tweeted that she canceled Paramount+ due to the scene, while another petitioned that the streaming service bring Elsa back.
