Disney Channel produces made-for-TV films known as "DCOMs" (Disney Channel Original Movies). Some of these movies are cult classics, including one that co-starred "Supernatural" actor Jared Padalecki.
Padalecki starred in 2002's "A Ring of Endless Light," alongside "The O.C." star Mischa Barton. The plot centers on Vicky (Barton), who bonds with the dolphins she has been researching while her grandfather is dying, and a young Padalecki plays one of Vicky's friends, Zachery Gray.
The film came early in Padalecki's career, long before "Supernatural” and his breakout role on "Gilmore Girls." While "A Ring of Endless Light" may not be the most recognizable Disney Channel movie, it stayed true to the Disney tradition of recognizing talent at a young age by casting future stars.
