South African actress Charlbi Dean died at the age of 32 in a New York City hospital on August 30, but no other details were given. The actress, who is most known for playing the assassin Syonide in "Black Lightning," also stars in the upcoming "Triangle of Sadness," which stole the show at 2022's Cannes Film Festival.
Dean started out as a child model at six, appearing in commercials, catalogs, and other types of ads before getting a role in a big-budget film. She made her acting debut in the 2010 South African film "Spud," which also starred Troye Sivan and John Cleese, and then its 2013 sequel, "Spud: The Madness Continues."
"Blood in the Water," "Don't Sleep," "An Interview with God," and one episode of "Elementary" are among Dean's other acting credentials, but the praise for "Triangle of Sadness" was just the beginning for Dean, who showed potential as a rising star in Hollywood. The film marks her final film credit, with no other projects currently in production.
