The Brettsey Scene
In Chicago Fire
Season 10 That Had
Fans In Tears
By JIM ROWLEY
Season 10, Episode 5 of "Chicago Fire" is not only the show's 200th episode; it also features the final appearance of Captain Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer). This means Casey had to say goodbye to Brett (Kara Killmer), and the dissolution of their on-screen relationship — known as "Brettsey" by fans — has viewers feeling the blues.
The scene in the episode where Casey and Brett must consider the uncertain future of their relationship is particularly heart-wrenching. The two decide they'll try to make it work even after Casey moves away, and he says to Brett, "I know I have you supporting me [...] Whether that's right here or halfway across America."
While Casey and Brett didn't exactly split up, fans on Twitter still got emotional over the scene; one user wrote, "This scene was so cute and i'll miss them so much," while another added, "Rest in peace my beloveds." Jesse Spencer himself hasn't ruled out a return to the show, but until then, "Brettsey" will most definitely be missed.
