"The Book of Boba Fett" catches fans up on Boba's adventures since he fell into a Sarlacc pit in “Star Wars Episode VI — Return Of The Jedi.” From introducing the deadly bounty hunter Cad Bane to the touching reunion of the Mandalorian and Baby Yoda, the story had to end with an explosive confrontation, and stunt coordinator J.J. Dashnaw details this process in an interview with Looper.
The climactic fight in "The Book of Boba Fett" involves just about every character in the series, including a large Wookie, jet packs, and a Rancor, and Dashnaw was responsible for designing the elaborate sequence. He reveals, "We had a really good plan on this one, and the reason it probably took six weeks is because of how careful we were shooting everything.”
Dashnaw also had to account for many other elements to make sure the scene didn’t resemble anything on Earth, crediting professionals that worked on special effects make-up and the mechanical rig of the monster Rancor. Dashnaw earned an Emmy nomination, saying, "It was basically six weeks of playtime for us [...] We were all very happy with the way it all turned out."
