Veteran screen actor Sam Elliott's most recent role was Shea Brennan, the beleaguered guide in "1883." The 77-year-old actor has a career that spans five decades but IMDb believes one of his films stands above all the rest.
According to IMDb, "The Big Lebowski," the crime comedy, directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, is the best Sam Elliott movie of all time. The film chronicles the misadventures of The Dude, with Elliott playing The Stranger, a cowboy type who serves as the movie's narrator.
Although "The Big Lebowski" was a box office disappointment, the film has become a cult classic in the years following its 1998 release. Elliott said that he initially felt "boxed in” at the idea of playing yet another cowboy, but later felt very grateful for the film because it led to some amazing opportunities.
