Star Trek Fans
Already Have Some
Strong Feelings
About Strange
New Worlds
By SHANE O'NEILL
"Star Trek" made its first streaming series in 2017 "Star Trek: Discovery," which opened the floodgates for "Star Trek: Picard" and "Star Trek: Prodigy." The most recent Paramount+ arrival, "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" just wrapped its first season, yet fans already have some strong feelings about what it has to offer.
In May of 2022, a Redditor said the show is the best "Star Trek" project since "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," which aired from 1993 to 1999. While some of the original poster's points did draw some critique from those in the comments, the majority of those who offered up their two cents agreed about "Strange New Worlds."
One could easily argue that a part of what has made "Strange New Worlds" such a hit with fans is the degree of creative freedom it gives those behind the lens. According to Anson Mount in an interview with Collider, directors get to pursue their own ideas and desires.
