This year marks the 25th anniversary of "South Park,” which is a fantastic achievement that not many other shows can claim. However, series creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone wish they could delete a few past seasons from existence, either due to embarrassment or creative differences that developed as they matured over the years.
"We care about different things today," Parker once told The Hollywood Reporter. Growing up and starting a family is something that ultimately led to Parker despising three of their past seasons the most. In an interview, Parker said, "If I had to permanently erase anything from the library, it would basically be anything before Season 4.”
Parker continued: "It's just embarrassing to watch. OK, we were, like, 26, 27. But it's like, 'Really?' We thought that was funny? We thought that was well-written?” Despite some episodes aging poorly, the show is still going strong, and the creative duo signed a massive $935 million, six-year deal to bring all of their future "South Park" content to Paramount+.
