There is no doubt that Matt Groening has had a remarkable career, having created some very notable mature-themed cartoons such as “Futurama” and “Disenchantment.” Of course, he is best known for his hit show "The Simpsons," which has aired over 30 seasons since its debut in the late '80s, winning 35 Emmys in the process.
In spite of all the entertaining characters from Springfield who enter the frame in every entry, Groening's favorite "Simpsons" character is Lisa Simpson, who has seen many memorable moments on the show. Despite being unexpected, the creator's choices and reasoning make a lot of sense when it comes to his favorite episodes.
In an interview after the 700th episode had been released, Groening opened up about his favorite episodes: "Ah, I like a lot of the very early episodes, particularly ones with Lisa. When Lisa first meets Bleeding Gums Murphy, her saxophone mentor, I was amazed that the show could actually be moving, given how garish the characters were drawn."
