Rob Zombie's The Munsters To Feature Elvira

By MELISSA LEMIEUX

Rob Zombie's big-screen interpretation of the 1960s hit sitcom "The Munsters" will be coming to big screens (and NBC's Peacock streaming service) sometime in 2022. Zombie has been treating his audience to casting news, which has included a surprising announcement about a supporting role.

Zombie has announced that Cassandra Peterson, best known as cheeky horror hostess Elvira, will join the cast. Per recent comments from the actress, it appears that the character she'll be playing in "The Munsters" will be a whole new ballgame for the actress.

The actress revealed that she will play real estate agent Barbara Carr who she describes as a “normal woman” that’s very different from any part she has played in the past. This won’t be her first time acting outsides of her Elvira persona, as she also appeared in "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" as Biker Mama, and Sorais in "Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold."
